Read he moved from defense to offense back to defense. As big as he is, maybe he just needs continuity and a coach to say "THIS is what I want you to do." Hope he can contribute.

Long shot, but you never know.

Maybe he'll have a shot to stick here.

No one. He takes the 90th spot in the roster.

Quote:Danny Kelly of Field Gulls gave us a little insight into him:

Bradford was a blue-chip recruit to USC as a one of the top defensive players in the country (a LB) coming out of high school. He originally signed to play safety, but his freshman year, he moved to RB, where he stuck (and become their top ball carrier his final two years). He was drafted by the Bucs in the sixth as a RB, but after he got cut there, the Hawks picked him up and moved him back to the defense. He played a good amount in the preseason last year and impressed some people there -- he was a little rusty, I imagine -- but definitely still looks the part.

People were pretty sad to see him get cut and swiped by the Giants, so it's a little surprising that he didn't catch on there. In Jacksonville, I'm guessing Gus Bradley has a plan for him. I would think he can play both MIKE and WILL, but unfortunately there's not a ton of tape out there on him. He'll compete as a special teams ace though, at worst.

Resident Seahawk fan here. The Seahawks were very high on him during preseason last year but wasn't able to crack the 53. He was primarly used in the MIKE. Bobby Wagner was the established starter at that position and the Seahawks prefered Heath Farwell's contributions on special teams. Throw in LBs like KJ Wright, Bruce Irvin, and Malcom Smith and you can see why it was a tough but necessary decision to let Bradford go.

I've attached a brief writeup that 710 ESPN Seattle wrote about him last preseason. Included is an interview with Seahawks LB coach Ken Norton Jr where he discusses Bradford specifically. Also is a youtube vid of him last preseason. He has all the tools, it's diagnosing plays where he needed improvement.

A few good plays on that video, but there are some bad plays in there as well.

He struggled at the start of the game but as the game went along he seemed to get better and better. He's extremely raw but you can see why Gus would want to bring him in to compete.

Yeah that's how I saw it too, at the very beginning he looked very indecisive and didn't shed blocks.  The more he played he appeared to gain some confidence going forward and made some plays.  Hopefully he's got plenty of development left in him.

Someone needs to tell Alfie that the Jaguars run a 4-3...not a 3-4.

He could have meant the starting or backup role. I didn't see it as an assumption we run a 3-4.

The 4-3 features one middle linebacker. The 3-4 features two inside linebackers. Alfie said...

<p style="margin-left:40px;">It's likely that Bradford will compete for one of the inside linebacker positions on the team currently occupied by <a class="" href='http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/16662/paul-posluszny'>Paul Posluszny</a> and <a class="" href='http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/194785/laroy-reynolds'>LaRoy Reynolds</a>.

Do they have to cut since we lost Allen?  I assumed he would be a special teams guy.
