Wow... I really hope so. The thing is, there is always optimism (rational or not) at this time of year. But for all the talk and 'A' ratings and so forth... none of these rookies have played a single NFL game yet. We don't 'know' who will succeed and who won't. So... we don't really know if it will be 'happy days' again until the season starts, or more likely, the 2015 season starts. But at the very least we can take comfort in that David Caldwell seems to be making good selections that most of us can get behind... unlike his predecessor.

In a comparison of 11 quarterbacks from the 2013 season, including Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater, Bortles had the highest yards-per-attempt average (7.8). ... New to the message board and UCF season ticket holder and alum (I assume you will be seeing a lot of us in the near future), our message board is pumped about the Jags this year.  Just a synopsis of what I got to see from Blake the last 2.5 years:

1. Calm, cool composure

2. You were NEVER out of a game.  Even down 3 score to UL he lead the charge back

3. Clowney had 0 sacks against him and was virtually a non factor. 

4. He never goes backwards on a sneak, so any 3rd or 4th and 1 was an automatic 1st down.

5. He never hit a plateau, he was always better than I remembered him. 

6. Great in the community

7. Great Spokesperson
