Imagine If Blackmon Came Back Now.

It's better to just forget that Blackmon even exists

Oh, so Blackmon was released? Did I miss something?

Until he's released, there's a chance he makes it here. I'm not banking on it or betting on it. I'm also not treating the idea like it's finding some alien life from another planet to play WR either.

None of us know what's going to happen. If you don't want to even discuss the possibility, what are you doing wasting your time in this thread?

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

And I don't want to sound too critical now, but we can also reasonably assess Blackmon's abilities objectively.

I do think he's special.  I do think he could be one of the best in the NFL.

But he hasn't shown that yet.

He started last year with 2 great games, I agree.

But most people forget the next 2 games, in 19 targets, he had 10 catches for 89 yards, with 12 yards being his longest reception.

He was a non-factor in those 2 games.

Blackmon has shown rare and special talent INCONSISTENTLY in the NFL, when on the field.

He's also shown that he can't be counted on to even BE on the field.  Let's not portray this guy to be the next Jerry Rice.

Look at his game logs.  I count 12/20 games he's played JB being a non-factor.

3 games I would consider "monster" games, and he had about 5 other "decent to good" games when he had 60-90ish yards and/or a TD.

Let's be real guys, we can probably replace this guy.

May be better to have a consistent guy that puts up 5 or 6 catches for 70-80 yards week in and week out than Blackmon.  Let's not make him out to be Calvin Johnson that we're missing out on.
