I got this update on my phone from yahoo. Crazy stuff. Some of the pictures I saw with the article of pictures people had posted to twitter looked pretty bad.

I have a feeling that this was a gas main issue. (8 inch gas line runs across 116th street underground) But its too soon to know for sure. That said - I have been impressed by the NYPD and federal agencies' efforts to keep NYC safe from terrorists. At the same time - I'm almost amazed that there hasn't been a successful bombing yet. I know that sounds weird and dark - but sometimes when I board a downtown train I realize how easy it could potentially be for one of these zealots too do something horrible. I'm looking forward to living in Florida again.
