Myles gets 12 snaps

Quote:Was also at least one play I saw where he was covering the TE and was absolutely blanketing him down the field. And then when our safety has that responsibility, he bites on the play action and it is 6 points Vikings.

Quote:I didn't say he was a bust, just that I wonder if he might be. It's not out of the realm of possibility, considering how good Caldwell is at picking trash in the early rounds. Perhaps, but if that's so, what are the odds this coaching staff has recognized that? Long, I say. In fact, if he is a terrible player, I'm quite certain Gussy would have him on the field for every play.
Quote:Myles Jack is a luxury that should only be on the field a maximum of 8-12 snaps. Quote:I was just looking that up as well: Skuta on the other hand had 23 snaps. (and it's been like this all season) Myles Jack is our version of Jimmy Garropolo (a luxury). Unfortunately, Skuta is our equivalent to Tom Brady. Quote:And then when our safety has that responsibility, he bites on the play action and it is 6 points Vikings. Exactly. I honestly think that was the biggest mistake we made with Jack. We should have put him at SS from the start. He's got all the skills for it, and SS needed and still needs an upgrade in a bad way. Given our Coach's desire to run that Seattle Defense... I really thought he was a shoe in for SS. Instead, Pullard keeps seeing the field instead of Jack. I can't wrap my head around that one.

Jack not playing is probably better for his development than playing under Gus tutelage and destroying his confidence.
Quote:HahahaBecause they keep showing it in such inventive ways? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Gus stated the Vikings went with a heavier personnel so that favored Skuta being in the game more.
14 wins and 47 losses makes more sense every time Gus speaks.
Skuta is a special teams player on almost every team in the league.. He should stick with that.
Jack will be a very good starter in this league.
He's athletic enough...can hit...can cover....
Could he take Cyp's spot at SS? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:He's athletic enough...can hit...can cover....He could and he even also played safety in college (he was moved all around the defense). During draft season earlier this year he gave an interview in which he talked about the possibility of being drafted by the Chargers and he said they told him they envisioned him like kind of a DB guy, they wanted him to play safety either instead of Weddle or as an in the box safety. I guess we'll see what the new coaching stuff thinks of him, but this guy has to be on the field, to talented to warm the bench or have Skuta playing more than him.
Is anyone really surprised by this? Not with this coaching staff. The team has looked like this for almost a decade now. That's insane.
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.
Quote:Don't worry. The new coaches will know how to use him. We have to worry until the team gets new coaches.
Seeing Myles run down Lamar Miller earlier this year should have been all they needed to see to know they must find a way to get him on the field.
Miller ran a 4.4 flat at the combine and Jack out weighs him by 20-30ish pounds, yet he easily ran him down, even though Miller had a full head of steam. How you don't find a way to get that kind of speed and ability on the field is just completely mind boggling. But instead, he just keeps getting less and less snaps each week. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
And yesterday Myles Jack played 8 (yes, eight) snaps. Skuta played 31 snaps.
Hopefully this situation ends with the new coaching staff next season.
