Top 2014 prospects NFL Comparisons

Bucktooth, you're cute.  You really are.  So you have that going for you, which is nice.

Too bad you're not intelligent enough to factor in their playbooks.

Otherwise, you'd realize that Teddy's numbers mirror the great Joe Ganz, who after running that same college system went on to have a stellar NFL career.

Like I said... there's a lot to say about the competition and the system.   But then, nothing said will sink in to someone so infatuated.  Love is blind, after all.

Hey Pirkster, maybe they run different playbooks because they have different abilities as quarterbacks?

Sean Glennon pass-to-run ratio as the starter: 82.8%/17.2% (2006), 78.1%/21.9% (2007)

Excellent logic. Flawless argument as always. Silly me.

Make sure to tip off all these scouts and analysts about this Joe Ganz fellow.

Related to this topic is an opinion question that I would be interested getting input on.

Present or past,  who would you compare Clemson WR Sammy Watkins to?

Ironic, considering your Leftwich slobbering in the past.

Dave, I think Percy Harvin is as close a comparison as you could get but not an exact match. Watkins has speed and quickness and can be lined up all over the field. He is probably not as "ruthless" has Harvin is, but I feel like he's just as dangerous.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Teddy is Black. Meaning he can only get compared to Black QBs. Taylor is obviously the closest Black QB to Bridgewater despite the two being nothing alike. Try comparing Luck to someone like Warren Moon. Its detestable. Always go to Montana, Marino, or Elway.

Deacon,  thanks for your excellent input.

A couple of follow-up questions come to mind,  based on the Percy Harvin comparison but not exact match.

1.  Do you feel Sammy Watkins' skills and makeup would make him a better fit on the outside or in the slot?   In the case of Harvin,  he's better suited for the slot.

2.  How do you rate Watkins'  NFL potential compared to another WR with Vikings connections,  Cordarrelle Patterson?   The latter demonstrated tremendous multi-dimensional playmaking ability as a rookie in 2013.

I'm very interested to see how Watkins is going to perform against an NFL-caliber press corner. I don't think he's ever been lined up against one in college, so if he can produce against one, then I would leave him outside to threaten the Defense. All that is is my obtuse way of saying "I don't know".

I think Watkins has much more potential that Patterson. To me, Patterson is a Randy Moss-lite. He can stretch a Defense. Watkins seems to me like he can rip through a Defense like a chainsaw through a teddy bear.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
