It's almost half the amount of the Obama vacation budget and he isn't even president yet or leaving home.

$85,000,000 doesn't really seem like that much.  Especially since that includes things like accommodations for Secret Service. Seems like one of those numbers that are used to shock people because to most people $85,000,000 is a lot of money.  But much of that money is being spent whether the President is on 'vacation' or not.  (Of note, Presidents pay for their own lodgings and their families lodgings.  It's everything else that costs, mainly the use of Air Force One and it's aerial support)

And of course Presidents never really have vacations.  As Nancy Reagan said "They don't get vacations, they just get a change of scenery".

I wonder if these same people bemoaning Obama's vacations will keep track of Trump's.  They didn't seem to keep track of Bush's.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

That's funny, cuz I was just going to ask why are the ones the kept track of Bush's trips to the Bush ranch aren't all up in arms about this.

No surprise here. He has been the most fiscally irresponsible president in history.

Debt rocketed in all countries to be fair. Has here under a conservative government. Doubled in Britain under Conservatives.

Yeah, that doesn't tell me how Obama has been the most fiscally irresponsible President ever, though.

Interesting that some odd weeks later this question still has not been answered.

What, you thought Drifter was trying to enlighten us? Yeah, right.

He's just doing his job - posting daily something to denigrate Obama. I'm not sure he knows there has been an election.

And if he can't link something dumb enough he'll link to some silly fake news article.

I know - I don't get it either. But it keeps him busy and probably helps with the therapy.

It's not easy to find, but looks like people estimate Bush cost about 20 million total in vacations...even though he actually more total vacation days than Obama.

Most of Bush's vacations were to his ranch or Camp David where travel is shorter, cheaper, and easier to secure.

Correct, his leisure time wasn't devoted to world tours with the hipsters and pretty people. He also gave up golf after the Watch This Drive incident.
