Week 14 Defense Help

#1

So I am in a "win and in" scenario in my league and think I've got a good handle on the rest of my lineup aside from Team Defense.  Standard Yahoo scoring so don't worry about yards against, just points allowed plus sacks, INTS, etc.

My usual D is Carolina but they are @ Saints which I am scared about.  The only real FA defenses for me are:

Houston @ Jax - Morally I can't pickup Houston against us

Jax vs. Houston - Keenum might help put up points but I think we will also get turnovers

Miami @ PIT - Pit's o line is awful and Miami gets to the QB, Big Ben is too elusive though for me

TB vs Buffalo - Don't like TB and I also will most likely be starting EJ if Aaron Rodgers is out

Detroit @ Philly - I have McCoy so I'd rather not and I don't care for Detroit's secondary

So those are my options, any help or sharing your thoughts is appreciated.  As it stands I picked up Jags D this week and they are starting, am I an idiot homer?

I'm in a similar position in each of the three leagues I'm in. In my NFL league I've stuck with the Panthers since its the last week of the regular season and I can't make the play offs. In my other two leagues I've qualified for the play offs: on yahoo I own the Chiefs and Panthers, so I've gone with the Chiefs; and on fleaflicker I've picked up the Raiders. Though knowing my luck, the Panthers will have a Seattle-esq performance...  <_<

In regards to your choices, I think you have made the right choice in picking the Jaguars over the other options. The Jags have had two decent-ish fantasy performances in the last two weeks, and according to yahoo, Houston have given up the 4th most fantasy points to team defenses this season. For me, I would leave all the other ones alone, especially Detroit considering the Eagles have scored 49, 27, 24, and 24 points this past four weeks. That being said, I am not sure whether I'd back our defense to score more points than the Panthers this week.

I don't blame you sitting them against NO. I have them in a couple leagues and am doing the same thing.

Of the available I think I'd go with Miami.

It's kind of tough to sit Carolina's D... Seahawks stuffed NO and held them to only 7 points. Carolina's D is just as nasty.

Miami's D is bad this week according to fantasy news, apparently Pittsburgh has the past 3 defenses at a total of -3 points, that or an average so I wouldn't put anyone's D against Pitt right now.

Too late, Jags D got me a respectable 8 points and Scobee added 10.  My opponent did however have Ben Tate and Andre so I am starting off Sunday behind by 4 but overall I am happy with our performance last night.  Thought I could sense a pick 6 coming when we had Houston backed up to the goal line of the south end zone after a penalty on a return.

I have the Panthers D with no intentions of sitting them for anyone including the Saints.
