Quote:That's a catch 22.   Ultimately, the development of Vucecic is critical.  If he progresses along the Magic will be picking @ #10ish this year.  IF he is a bust, then #3 is possible.   I'm thinking 30 wins for the Magic.  The Eastern Conference has 5 decent teams this year.  (Heat-Bulls-Knicks-Nets-Pacers)
I don't see us picking at 10ish next year.  Vuc will play good just like he did last year.  We still need a real PG a PF that can defend the rim.  Our team will get a little better but we still will probably pick in the top 5 next year and hopefully the lottery helps us out.  I like the Vic pick and I think he will be a star.  I was hoping we got him or McLemore.

The NBA sucks so bad it isn't funny.

Completely unwatchable.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

We have the NBA Package and are glued to the TV throughout the season.  Love the hometown broadcasts across the cities and the talent level is incredible.  I find the NFL to be completely boring once the NBA season starts .... end to end action of the best athletes in the world.

he will be exactly what he was last season. still soft, but an improved passer, great pnr player, the worst hook shot i have ever seen.  doesnt deserve the contract he got but there was no one else better from the spurs standpoint.  kawhi is gonna be the breakout player imo.  splitter will get his time when duncan hangs it up, hopefully he hasnt reach his ceiling yet.

Come on Dak (I'm going to call you Dak when you're bad, because of Empire Strikes Back), don't be that guy. That guy does this to the baseball threads. Don't be that guy, Dak.

he should avg at least 30 min per game, if not more. our backup bigs are diaw bonner and baynes. and theyll only have spot up duties. tiago should get a slight increase in his stats.

dont have an espn acct but if we can round up 8 more and agree on it im down, though h2h is more fun due to the competitive angle.

Quote:easy there you 2....He had a nice stretch post A-S break but I wouldn't go counting any chickens yet until he duplicates that performance for a whole season this year.

I think theres just as good of a chance that Tobias Harris disappoints this season. We're already seeing injury issues. His sprained ankle didn't even look that bad when it happened as he was able to walk to the locker room under his own power, and yet he's out for tomorrows game and its already been close to a week??

George Hill is poop. Hibbert's okay, and West is nothing special. No way I'd take Hibbert over Howard, Howard will bounce back in a big way this season.

I have no problem with the Magic acting gingerly towards Harris, they are in full-tank mode so no need to rush any of their better players back. I am not a fan of Jaque Vaughn playing Tobias at the 4, I think he is much more suited for the 3 spot which would push Moe Harkless to the bench where I think his energy is better served.

Wiggins would look real nice as the main option with the defensive abilities of Oladipo and Harkless, Tobias' all around game, and Vuc in the post. But honestly though, I would really estatic if they got Julius Randle too. If the Chris Webbeer comparison is legit for him, I'd do backflips with him and Vuc holding down the paint.

I fully expect the Magic working their way back up pretty quickly next year assuming they can dump AA, Big Baby, and Turk and they hit on their two first rounders next year.

Yes, I would be happy with Smart too!  Turk is gone.

Yeah, Turk will never put on a Magic uniform again. I don't know what is taking them so long to agree on the buyout.

Harris is 21. Got better and better as the season went on. You don't average over 17 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks a game and not be very good. He will only get better and better.

The Magic believe so much that he is one of the young ones to exercise the team option on him.

Quote:Who's your team OR do you root for a certain player or 2 ?

I'll be rooting for Miami to win the championship then hope Lebron returns home to Cleveland for a title up there.  I'm also hoping the Magic show improvement and build on their recent acquisitions.

Lakers (Kobe-less) starting lineup is terrrible.

Clippers will be interesting to watch under Doc Rivers.  Hopefully a little more D than last year.

Brooklyn is getting the hype but I think Pierce is done -- Garnett is nearing the end.

Chicago - can't wait to see the return of D Rose.

Pacers - the best unknown team in sports.

Blazers -- hoping they can compete finally after their run of bad luck / injuries dating back to sam bowie and greg oden....

Sacro - would have been nice to see a team in seattle ... those fans are crazy !!

OKC -- Westbrook? the big question.

Houston - Dwight & Harden .. should be quite interesting.

Cavs - can anthony bennett and tristan thompson step up ?  is bynum healthy?   Kyrie is the real deal.

Spurs - getting old.  ha !!
Ill be watching the development of my Magic and seeing how it will transition into next season. The playoffs isnt realistic. I just want Big baby to come back healthy and put up good numbers to become a viable trade option. I would like to include Jammer in that package as well, he is clearly on his last leg and we cant afford to waste valuable possessions at the end of games just from him jacking up garbage shots. If Oladipo take huge steps and is starting by the end of the season, then its time to move Jammer and Affallo out. Im not a fan of O'Quinn he really needs to work on his fundamentals.

Vuc, Harkless and Harris are going to be the cornerstone of this franchise, the question will be is Henny willing to make the right FA signings that will mesh with the team.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.
