The Helmets...

Not to beat this horse to death, but is there any sort of chance that we can get these things changed

It's one of the worst looking pieces of designed equipment in the history of sports.

The new helmet apparently cannot be changed for 5 years - per some NFL equipment guideline.

Gotta learn to love 'em for a while.

Can we just fix the fade of the helmet, design remains but the fade is actually a thing instead of a sudden stop/start between colors.

That would be great  -  no idea if that would be permitted or if the powers that be share our opinion.

They said the same thing about the old new uniforms.

I think they are allowed to change stuff early when the team changes ownership or is sold. I read that somewhere don't know if it's true but makes sense.

Could always have 'throwback helmets'

...Maybe?

I know I'd like to throw back these helmets though.  :yucky:

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Actually the league requires teams to wear the same helmet all year. Prevented the bucs from wearing the creamsicles this year.

I used to love their throwback games, no fun league living up to its name

I'm thinking that if we are still keeping the overall concept/ of the helmet - i.e. - same general colors and stuff, and just fixing the black and gold to a proper fade , that that would be something that would be allowed.

Its not any sort of wholesale change, just a minor update, much like when Weaver would change the jersey number / letter font like every year from 1996-1998.

When we had the last uniforms, they changed (some of) the stripes to accomodate the captains patch, so this makes sense to me.
