Youch! NFL.com harsh words for the jaguars

Quote:Case in point.
I view the problem as the opposite. Trying to use an inordinate amount of average rate stat compiling as proof that Blake had made the leap to true franchise QB was a much bigger problem.

Making an honest assessment without letting fandom interfere is unpopular I know.

The honest assessment is that Bortles has and showed the tools to be good. He regressed this year the same as pretty much every other player that's ever come here under Gus has. If Bortles was the only case of this regression it would clearly be on him, but an honest assessment of this team is that Gus and his staff can't develop players or put them into position to be successful.

Quote:Bortles doesn't go from playing great one season to playing terrible the next without some reason. You can have a fluke game, you can't have a fluke season.

Bortles has arm issues and this dim-witted coach won't address it. Blake's arm is dead, he has shoulder problems, and that leads to confidence problems. He should be on the bench healing, but Gus is determined to get wins to save his job he's sacrificing Bortles in the process.

I think you have a big point here.  However, I do not see it a necessity to sit him.  I'd rather him get he reps.
