Cut #99 Sen'Derrick Marks

It was crazy, the people who I was watching the game with (all non jag fans) were just like no one jump they are trying to make you guys jump off sides. I knew it, everyone I was with knew it, the fans at the game knew it, Shad Khan who knows nothing about football knew it, everyone knew it. What a freaking idiot

Really doesn't get more obvious than that when it comes to trying to draw an off-sides.

The ineptitude throughout this organization is mind-numbing.

I expect next Sunday he'll get frozen in place with, "Hey look, your shoe's untied,"

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

This.  I screamed at the tv "Don't fall for it!"

Sheldon Day needs more reps so I'm cool with it.

Dumb thread is dumb. If we cut everyone who has made a boneheaded play this year, we wouldn't be able to field a gameday roster. It all starts at the top. Kill the head of all this foolishness and the body will die. I'm looking at you Gus!

Right about that....the right thing to do is teach these guys to think. From the newest rook to the most invested veteran.

These are the things that win games. Not dancing around and believing in victory just because you show up on Sundays.

Ain't that simple.

Stafford went back to the coaches tape of our loss to the chargers.....saw that we fell for it back then.....wrote down what rivers used for the count...and even used the same hard count word for word!

His o=line was just told to hold, not snap....there is no play. But voila'....easy 5 yards.

Seems to me the D-line coach didn't use this teaching moment.....guys, here's what they did to beat you out of 5 easy yards!

Learn from this!

A teaching moment?  For an 8-year vet?  That is solely on the player.  I don't think there was a person in the stadium (or on television) that thought he was actually going to snap the ball.  Terrible, terrible play and inexcusable for a veteran player.

Quote:Gus presser, we can't just blame that one play. Any other coach would have roasted his player for doing something idiotic.

Wrong. Go find me any coach who roasted any player for any mistake this season. I won't wait

You don't cut one of your better players because he made a dumb play, even one that potentially cost the Jags a game.  If you did that, you wouldn't be able to field a roster.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

He also jumped on a hard count on 4th and 1 during the San Diego game

Cut him for one play, no.  The question is, how many dumb plays does he have to make before you do?  Didn't he get called for taunting (can't remember which game, maybe 4 weeks ago?) after the play on a 3rd down where the defense held?

I can understand jumping off sides, though is was still a bone-head move in that game situation, but taunting? That's the mentality of a 6 year old.  The lack of discipline on this team is an embarrassment.  Accountability starts at the top and flows downhill and there just isn't any to be seen in this organization.

Lack of discipline is generally on coaching.  Marks is a talented player that I'd rather have on the team than not.  At least for another year or two.

Quote:Cut the piece of garbage. Hasn't been good for years. Whines about playing time and then makes a bone head mistake to cost us the game. Dopey Gus needs to lay down the law if he wants to salvage what little credibility he has. It's not like we would miss the bum if we cut him anyway

Based on Gus' record, I don't think there is credibility to be salvaged.
