I agree.. Ivory is getting way too many carries... Run Fournette until he can't run anymore... Fournette is young and full of energy.. let him get in his groove and plow through the other team... you can't get in a groove if you're on the bench every other play...

Dallas didn't shy away from giving Zeke a [BLEEP] ton of carries.

And Zeke only avg 18.9 carries a game, yall want us to give Fournette 25-30 carries a game, through the first 2 weeks Fournette is still 2nd in the NFL in carries

And the Jags aren't shying away from giving Fournette a ton of carries if you just think about it clearly.

He had 26 attempts in week one.  He'd have had that many again in week two if the Jags didn't go down by three scores in the third quarter.

Just like your boy Zeke getting nine carries vs Denver.  When you are having your butt handed to you on the scoreboard you can't keep running.

He's still on pace for 320 carries.  It may end up a bit higher than that if he stays healthy and we don't have too many more games that are out of hand early in the third.

Zeke had 322 last year.

Perspective, people.  Have some. You'll feel better.

Agree with this thread topic. I'm waiting for Ivory to fumble the ball when we still have a chance. It's going to happen and giving him more carries brings the Jags that much closer to it. I prefer Grant and Fournette for foreseeable future.

You are wrong. If we are 3 scores behind then any running plays you do call should be given to your 4th pick overall not someone who is turnover prone and injury prone. If you aren't calling that many running plays then what's the harm in giving someone who deserves it the ball? You make no sense and have zero perspective.

Yeah I just hope he doesnt get near 400. I think mixing up the formations maybe would help I don't know I just know when the tacks stopped us running into the middle and Bortles had to throw on 3rd and long bad things happen.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised you don't understand what I'm talking about.

If the Jags are down big on the scoreboard they aren't going to run much anyway, so there's no need to spell your #1 back very much. So, in those situations, they'll likely use Fournette much more than Ivory.

In a game that's not out of hand, there's simply no need to run your rookie back into the ground when you have other effective options and plan to run 30+ times in that game.

The Jags ran Ivory only 2 times in the second half of the game Sunday, BTW.  Fournette had 5 carries in that span.

If you actually think there's some tragedy in that ratio, I can't help you.

We don't need to decrease Fournette's carries, we just need to move 4-6 carries (or pass plays) per game from Ivory to Grant.

I guess my concern is really that he seems to come in just when Fournette looks like he's breaking through

Now this notion I can agree with a little bit.

I have no issue with them using Ivory to spell #27 or the number of carries either of them are getting, however,  the timing of inserting him has been a touch early to my eye as well.

When (and if) 27 is getting hot - leave him in or get him back out there after a couple plays. Not a whole series.
