We are tied for 2nd in points given up.  Thats the stat to look at.  We hold it down when it matters.

As good as they are now, they will only get better once guys like Jack, Fowler and Yannick get more experience. Poz is the only guy who is unlikely to be back unless Colvin leaves in free agency. Although admittedly biased, I would take the Jaguars defense over any other in the league due to the combination of talent and youth.

I like the youth on this defense as well.

But I also like that, similar to all of the great defenses of the past, there are playmakers on each level of the defense.

The Dallas Doomsday defenses of the 70s had Harvey Martin, Randy White, Ed Jones along the defensive line, Thomas Henderson and Mike Hegman at LB, and Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris at S.  The Steelers of that same time had Hall of Famers at DL (Greene and Greenwood), LB (Ham and Lambert) and DB (Blount, and Shell should be in the Hall of Fame).  The Ditka era Bears of the 80s had Dent, Hampton and McMichael at DL, Singletary, Wilson and Marshall at LB, with Fencik at S.  The Walsh era 49ers had Michael Carter at NT, Dean, and Haley at LB, and Ronnie Lott in the secondary.  More recently, the Patriots have had Richard Seymour at DL, McGinest at OLB, and Ty Law in the secondary.  The Bucs Super Bowl winning defense had Sapp and Rice at DL, Derrick Brooks at OLB, and Barber and Lynch in the secondary.  Seattle's back to back Super bowl teams offered Clemons, Avril and Bennett at DL, KJ Wright and Irvin at LB, and Sherman and Thomas in the secondary.  Denver's last Super Bowl team had Malik Jackson and Derek Wolfe on the DL, Marshall, Ware and Miller at LB, and Talib, Harris and Ward at DB.

Our team has a way to go before earning their place among those defenses.  Right now, the run defense needs to be much better.  However, like the above teams, there are legit playmakers on each level of the Jaguars defense, and it is evident in the fact we are currently leading the league in sacks and turnovers, and if I had to guess, turnovers returned for TDs so far.

This defense could be great with more help from the offense to play with more leads, and better run defense to put more offenses in long yardage situations.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

He also had a year where he only threw 3 picks. I think he led the league in qbr. And had the highest completion percentage in the 4th quarter. Not sure on that last one. He also took us to the playoffs twice. Once when Byron went down and again in 2007.

Garrard was like the 7th alternate that year.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
