College Title Game Swallowed by NFL Playoffs

I was watching the sports coverage yesterday, and what I saw was loads of coverage of the NFL Wild Card games, then oh, yeah, there's a college national championship game tonight, and then loads of coverage of the upcoming Divisional round of playoffs.

It's like, let's show all the highlights from the Wild Card games, then let's talk about the Wild Card games, then a reminder, Georgia and Alabama are playing tonight, then let's talk a while about the playoff games coming up this weekend.

I think college football has a problem with the way the college playoffs are surrounded by NFL Playoff games.   Maybe they need to do something with the scheduling, but they're not coming off well in the current format/schedule.  They're being swamped by the NFL.

I know this isn't completely related but they definitely need to move it from Monday night. Why wouldn't they make it a Friday night game?

I think that would be a good step, because the Monday after the first round of NFL playoffs is a bad time for them to get any significant coverage.  A Friday night timeslot would allow the hubbub from the previous week's NFL games to die down.

Maybe it's a lost cause anyway.   Georgia vs Alabama, or any other 2 college teams, isn't going to have the same amount of interest as you'll get from 8 NFL cities located all over the country.

I forgot it was even on. I was flipping around the channels when I found it. I'm a gator fan. Florida's last game was Nov. 25th. The title game was on 1/8. I'm probably in the minority, but that is my biggest problem. I'm out of college football mode by this point. The nfl playoffs make me remembering the college title game even harder.
