I wonder if these guys are hearing something from sources, cause it's weird that all of the sudden mocks are giving us Moore/Kirk/Ridley like crazy.

It's just outside folks looking in and seeing we let Arob go.  Mock folks don't typically have any sources.  Being as such, most adopt a herd mentality looking at each others' work.  That's also why most aren't trusted by sources (and thus don't have them.)

Gosselin was one of the best re:insights... he did a three part breakdown.  His final was about as accurate as anyone gets (and no one is very accurate at all.)  But he quit doing that years ago.  He's still one of the best analysts you'll find.

It's a smokescreen or people throwing poo at the wall. Caldwell keeps everything close to the vest so there aren't any leaks really. Last year people started mocking us Watson and saying that's who we preferred when it was always Fournette we were looking at (although Thomas may have been an option if he was there).

So much can happen up until our pick also. It's not like we are picking top 3 where there are only so many legitimate scenarios.

Meh, Bortles was a shocker...but Fowler, Ramsey (when not already off the board), and Fournette were all by far the most common mocked to us. Joeckel was late too even once the Fisher 1.01 rumors started popping up.

I do agree the exact player will be much harder to nail since we pick so late, but I think the overall mood of what we're wanting most can probably be deciphered.

Here's mine (re:pick 28.b):

50% OT/OG/C - Highest probability to me.  Tom went after Baby Boselli.  He won't stop until the line is fixed, and to get the best in this draft we'll have to go early.  OL is likely to be the second pick if not the first, and could be both.

30% TE - Behind OL and less likely.  If they fell in love with a guy, this could be the pick.

10% WR - I really doubt it.  I wouldn't be upset but it doesn't fit what Tom wants/likes to do.  I think they're happy with what's there not to take one so high.  Later?  I think that's a certainty.  The way I see them take one here is that their preferred targets at the above OL and TE positions are off the board, and they have what they think is a "value" at the pick that they can't pass up.

5% QB - Tom may go get a prototype QB this high if he's the only one left (Rudolph.)  Otherwise, it will be one late or not at all from a backup ceiling crop if one isn't taken by us in the first.  If that's the case I could see a veteran backup trade/waiver pickup.

5% Other positions - least likely, but you never say never... that's when never happens.

I just think they are wrong this time. Drafting a WR high makes zero sense. So Westbrook or Cole or our first round pick would basically be a bench warmer because I doubt we are going to run many 5 WR sets. That's not a need IMO, and Caldwell is a huge need drafter in the early rounds. Guard or TE or QB would be the biggest needs right now, so I'd be a little surprised if they went away from that, especially considering the talent lines up with our spot.

I agree with the analysis overall, but the part in bold struck me.

We are talking about a line that allowed only 24 sacks (one of the lowest sack totals in team history) and helped to lead the league in rushing.

But yes...the OL needs fixing/upgrading.

I could maybe get on board if this draft was loaded with studs at WR but that's not the case at all, plus like I said the issue benching one of our up and coming guys sucks.  I would probably rather take a safety or defensive tackle

I'll let ya know in a couple weeks. Pass catcher (either WR or TE) is just as much of a need as anything else to me assuming the QBs are off the board though.
