Colts vs Saints
|
Ten years ago these two teams met in the Super Bowl with the Saints winning. Tonight, the Saints are so far winning again as the Colts are struggling to get something going. They are currently scoreless and are down by 17 to the Saints. The Colts still technically have a shot at making the playoffs. A few weeks ago, I thought they still had the chance to win the division and at least make a strong push for a WC spot. But they have lost their last three games and their playoff chances are dwindling.
I do wonder who will end up getting the last WC spot, now that the Bills have gotten the first one. I wouldn't have minded seeing the Browns get it. But they continue to struggle/be inconsistent and have a much smaller chance of making it now. Maybe the Titans will get it. Truth be told, with the way they have been playing since the switch to Tannehill, they are one of the teams that is most deserving of that spot. Them and the who Steelers technically still have a chance to win it as well. But I wonder if the Steelers have gone as far as they are going to go this year. Mike Tomlin really did a nice job of keeping them competitive after Big Ben got injured. And after the drama involving Mason Rudolph happened. We show less advertisements to registered users. The Colts really aren't doing anything tonight. Offensively or defensively. The Saints are just moving up the field however they want. Michael Thomas had like 10 catches off of 10 targets. And now Drew Brees has thrown a TD to Taysom Hill, and has passed Peyton Manning and becoming #1 on the all time list for passing TD's. Congrats to him, that is awesome.
The game day thread on the clots message board is fairly entertaining.

They really are having a disappointing end to a season that started out promising. They were 5-2 at one point and looked like they could possibly win the division. And things went South and unless they make a big comeback, will be eliminated from playoff contention tonight. I did see that some of their fans have felt like things had gotten shakier for them after Jacoby Brissett had his injury. I do like him, and think he's actually underrated, but he has definitely struggled tonight with his throws. The team as a whole is really struggling, they seem a bit lifeless. They do have a nice O-line though and have been fortunate to have all of their starters on it, start all their games. I wish the Jags had an O-line like that. And he's made like 28 of his 29 throws throws that is fantastic. I think that percentage will drop at least a little as the night progresses but he is still having a really great night. I also enjoy watching Taysom Hill play. He works hard, is willing to do almost a little bit of everything, and is entertaining. I am glad he has found a place with the Saints. And I wonder how many points the Saints will hang on the Colts tonight and if Drew will finish up this game. With the Saints being pretty far ahead. Maybe he will finish it out , especially since it's a special night for him. |
