If GMs and analysts believe Barmore is the next Chris Jones, he goes a lot earlier than 25.  I wouldn't pan the pick if we made it, but it seems risky.

Barmore is usually in the 14-20 range in mocks. I would consider it a bit of a surprise if IDL1 made it to 25,

Yeah, that's my point.  A lot of mocks still project him to us though.  Unless there's something wrong with the guy, I don't see how the best player at such a premium position would drop to 25.

"Professional" mockers tend to start getting a better idea of how personnel departments feel about some players as we get closer to the draft.  Maybe he starts rising in some of those mocks.

It's just a mock, has nothing to do with how real GMs feel.  After the first 10 or so picks they are usually wrong more often than not.  He's the top guy imo because of how weak the DT class is as well as pass rushing class.  DJ has him as his 41st best player.

Ive seen Barmore mocked to us probably more than amy other team, all it takes is one team though so who knows.  I've seen Parsons mocked in the top 10 to all the way to the Browns, I've seen Collins from the Pats all the way to the 2nd round.  The mocks mean nothing really, it's just something for people to have fun with

Bucky doesn't have him going in the first

Walter has him going 30 to Buffalo.

DJ has him as his 41st best player.

Maybe I'm missing something where everyone has him so highly rated and going so high in the draft

I've never analyzed his play, so I can't really speak to his on field talent, but the fact that Barmore isn't more coveted gives me pause.

I think it is also complicated by other positions being so deep and projected needs among teams. There's already 5 QB and 3 OT at least that are easily top-15 and maybe top 10 picks. Realistically, I could see him going in the late teens, or at the end of the first.

I think where we are is a place where value begins to take root - partly due to the lack of talent at the position, partly due to his own ability, and partly due to the others at that pick being possibly second-tier at different positions.

I don't think anyone is alleging that Barmore is the next Sapp or Suh - those guys are generational players that warrant a top pick.
