Trubisky @ #4? Yikes.  We've already drafted two late riser QB's in Gabbert and Bortles.  No thanks.

I'm with you, I dont get the Trubisky love from Jaguars fans, I seen one jag fan on twitter say if we want an accurate athletic QB take Trubisky, but Blake Bortles was just as accurate and athletic coming out of College as Trubisky, plus Bortles is bigger, taller and had more experience. Trubisky is 3 years away no way I would pick him, Watson I would pick in the 1st, and Mahomes in the 2nd, other then that Peterman in the mid rounds.

I am honestly not sure how Caldwell still has a job. 

 

Yeah, I don't get it either. He hasn't been good. He whiffed on the coach and the quarterback -- arguably the two most important components of a winning franchise. He also whiffed on the "cornerstone" left tackle and spent a top 5 pick on a pass rusher who has to learn how to rush the passer. Jalen Ramsey falling in 2016 saved his job, in my opinion.

This is my take:  They've fell in love with a player (or two) and by blowing some smoke for a QB, they hope another team leap frogs them.  I really really don't think they take a QB at 4.

They cant all be smokescreens.  Watson won't make it to 12. 

 

Jacksonville knows the popularity of Watson.  And why remaining hush on this.  So if gone by 3 Doesn't have to explain anything.  And does not want Buffalo or Ny to leap frog them for Watson.  If that is the qb they are targeting.  Which would make sense. New HC,  new Head of Football Operations. 

 

But even san fran could pick Watson.  It is the whole Traits like Brady thing.   Clutch qb in big games.  Is very hard to find. 

 

Plus they have not picked up Blakes 5th year option.  And won't prior to Draft.

But I haven't given up on Bortles yet and I don't see the need to drop a first rd pick on these less than stellar QBs. We have more of a need for RB/TE/OL/S. QB shouldn't be a concern until next year in my eyes....

After this workout, I think it's even more safe to say he's not going top five. I have Watson falling to the Texans at #26 unless a team trades up to get him ahead of the Texans.
