If Trevor has been sent into the teeth of the defense for four weeks straight, I would agree, but I think it was more of they saw something in the Bungles defense they liked, and took the look. I don't think this will be a regular occurrence every game

I love Trevor running read option. He is great at it.

I take the middle ground on this issue.  I don't think he should never run, but he should do it sparingly.  I am concerned that we may be pressing our luck if we do it too often and he'll get hurt.  Do it occasionally to throw the defense off and also maybe do it when it is really needed such as to get a first down or there's an opportunity for a really big pickup, etc.

Agree entirely. There is no reason to overrun him and risk injury this year, given we are not even competing for the playoffs. However, running is a part of his game, and we don’t want to take that away entirely. He seem to get into the flow of things a lot better when he realize that was an option, similar to what he used to do at Clemson.

This is my thought as well. I hate seeing QB's run, but when you have an athletic rookie QB, let him make some plays with his legs to build up his confidence. Once he gets to the point where he is more comfortable throwing the ball from the pocket, wean him away from running as often in order to avoid injuries. The last thing we need is for our franchise QB to get seriously hurt, running unnecessarily. Especially a guy as lean as Lawrence. I'd still like to see him add 10-15 lbs. to his thin frame to cushion some of those hits.

Yep.

If they are gonna play this scheme, they need LBs that can cover.

(Of course safeties and CBs with the skill would be nice as well)

We know they have a package with Rudy Ford playing big nickel/dime, I might've been in favor of that over one of the LBs.

I'd def be lookin for ways to get a big nickel in there, more dime, anything to take the onus off of those LBs in coverage.

ESPECIALLY when you see an OC and/or QB lighting them up repeatedly like that second half.

Our defense were the "monsters of the until midway" on Thursday. Then they got exposed.
The better OC's won't wait until the half to employ that strategy moving forward.

Agreed, Wilson has no business trying to cover anybody. He's been getting torched every week.
