That is absolutely not true.   Food has value, because we cannot survive without it.   Just saying food has value isn't what gives it value.  There are a million other examples.

I'll go one further. Fruits, vegetables, animals, trees, grass, sunlight; anything that sustains nature and makes it possible for life to continue to survive has intrinsic value. It isnt given instant value because man decided it was so. man maybe artificially enhanced or inflated/diminished the value of these essentials, but that's as far as his/her power extends.
