And if you’re curious about tackles, Taylor has been killing it.  Easily top 10.  And Robinson has been performing dead middle of the pack.  Any starters we try to demote will be instant trade bait.  The line at every position (except centre where rookie experience has been exposed in the first graph - but I expect a number of teams would grab him in a second) is out performing a large part of the remaining league.  Our line does not utterly suck.  It’s a bit better than average and in three positions it is much better than average.

Which is really fun, because for the past 3 years, Jones did nothing to assert himself as "the man". The Gints opted against the 5th year option, so next year they have to make the choice of either moving on, tagging him for 30-ish mill, or giving him a long term deal in the hopes that it wasn't a one-year anomaly.

Can't say I envy their position, thinking in the long term.

He doesn't have to be "the man" if you have a really good run game and defense. It's hard for them to know though because he hasn't had a good oline or pass catchers.  They have also had a lot of injuries on the offense side of the ball including Jones.  If our offensive game plan was like the Giants we would be 5-1 as well

He doesn't have to be the man, but you gonna pay him 30 mill to be the handoff guy? That move has repurcussions. The question isn't whether run and D get you wins this year, it's what do they do with DJ, and what that leads to down the road.

I kinda want them to go on a run, and overpay for him. Stupid decisions by other teams is always good.
