It really sucks to look at the team and see how many needs we have right now. Ringo, Carter, Anderson, Johnson etc. We could use any of those on this team, we need them all lol. It's really sad.(10-30-2022, 11:31 PM)JAGs Nation Wrote: The defense is a huge concern. Seems the defensive backs just play too soft.. Seems there is always a receiver open on every play, and today it was striking. Many times the TEs were all alone and wide open. They make it way too easy for the QBs to just pick the defense apart, as Matt Ryan did a few weeks ago. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Excuse me, but I'm pretty sure you're forgetting the long snapper. The punter can't punt if the long snapper doesn't get it there!

Can we leave the personal insults behind for a while and get back to some semblance of topic, gents? Please, and thank you.

Going to say this out loud: Unfortunately, Trevor is not good material.
Let's see if upper management does some move until tomorrow regarding a possible trade. Better late than never right?

Lots of chicken Vs. egg discussion on who is at fault for this string of losses, QB or defense. Most of the times it seems pretty obvious.
If the QB leads the team to a go ahead scoring drive, but there is still time on the clock and the defense gives up a winning drive, then that's clearly on the defense. If the offense is lining up for a game winning scoring drive, and the QB throws a pick or fumbles, then that's on the offense. Count how many losses ended up on either side of these two ledgers, and you have your answer.

I didn't know the game was decided on the last drive? I thought the full 60 minutes was used but you learn something new every day.

If the game is coming down to the last drive, then why does everything that went before matter? If you are 0-0 with 2 minutes to go, then who cares about what went before? You're even, or in the case of a 1 score game, ahead or behind with a chance to score on O if behind or hold on D if ahead. This team has failed on both sides of the ball in those scenarios for multiple times so far this year.

So in this hypothetical - if the offense has 10 turnovers and 0pts and the defense has given 0pts and it is 0-0 with 2 min left and the defense gives up a score and we lose.. the defense is to blame?

Fortner is getting his lumps this season. Trial by fire and the best way to learn is experience. He definitely needs to get stronger though.

Great breakdown on the interception that sealed it for the ponies. |
