The city's three-member elections board voted 2-1 in favor of imposing poll book reconciliation, a lengthy process intended to prevent double votes, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday. The reconciliation process would flag any mail-in ballots from voters who also cast ballots in person.

And I guarantee you, the Republicans who imposed this change will point to the time it takes to count the votes as indicative of something nefarious in the system.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Republican legislature of Pennsylvania impose a measure in the 2020 election where the mail in ballots could not be counted until election day?  And that delayed the result for several days, allowing Trump to claim some sort of conspiracy.

This safeguard is built into the computerized voting system here in Duval County, and I'm sure in many other systems across the country.  This is not a difficult thing to do from a programming perspective.  Why this type of basic check isn't in the systems serving a city as large as Philly is concerning in and of itself, but if they can't get these basic auditing features into their systems in time for the elections, then mail-in voting shouldn't even be allowed.  The obvious answer is that the powers that be don't want a tightly audited system for obvious reasons.
