Scam email regarding Paramount+

#1

I got an email today stating my payment for Paramount was rejected and in order to not lose my account access I need to follow a link, log in and update my info. It's definitely a scam but googled the website name and this came up on Reddit.

I knew immediately it was a scam because I just checked my bank account yesterday for something else and saw the Paramount debit had cleared two days ago.

I know we're all pretty smart when it comes to this sort of thing but folks we know, especially older parents, may not be so let them know.

I get quite a few of those, not only for Paramount+, but also for Netflix, Hulu and Prime as well.. Yeah, those are definitely phishing techniques.

Most of the time my spam filter catches them and sends those emails to the spam folder, but seems like once in a while, one slips through and ends up in my in-box..

They'll try anything..

I rarely get these, like maybe once a year, as my spam filter is pretty good at doing its job so I was kind of surprised to get this one. I don't know what 'they' did differently this time but had I not just seen that the payment had cleared my bank I would've thought for half a second that something did happen.

always hover over links in emails, that's usually the dead giveaway.

I also think it's cute that you think elderly subscribe to paramount plus Smile
