David Lynch RIP

I was a huge fan of his movies and of Twin Peaks. Very unique film maker. RIP
David Lynch passes away

I'll have to look into everything he did. Twin Peaks was definitely ahead of its time IMO. Great show.

The Twin Peaks prequel movie Fire Walk With Me is a good starting point but it’s quite a bit more arcane than the TV show.

He made weird films and I appreciate weird. Should definitely check out Blue Velvet. Big fan of his version of Dune as well which had mixed reviews I believe when it was released.

The trouble with it was that the producers got involved with editing it in order to cut Lynch’s original 3 hour cut to 2 hours and he wasn’t happy with it. Later they had another guy come back in and add back a bunch of outtakes and other stuff that resulted in soundtrack and continuity issues. Lynch had his name removed from that version and it truly sucks. Lynch’s original cut was never released so the theatrical version is the one to see. It’s a good film but some fans were pissed that the story was so different than the novel.
