Jaguars rookie mini camp starts May 9th
|
Listening to Jaguars live on youtube, Brian Sexton said “I don’t think either of the tackles have done enough to clear themselves of competition.”
Wow. Little just signed a new deal and Harrison was a first round pick. John Osher said “I can name about 6 starters that will be participating in mini camp.” Hunter obviously is getting all the love, but Milum and Ransaw will be getting long looks, maybe even Kiser. 6? It's a fair point about Little and Harrison. Little did play well last year after Cam Robinson was traded to the Vikings. In fact, funny enough, Little's best game in pass-blocking per PFF was against the Vikings. He walked away from that game with a 89.6 grade and that gave him the highest grade from his position that week. Allowed two sacks and allowed a pressure rate of 4.1%. This ranked him 18th out of 68 qualifying left tackles. His run-blocking grade finished out as 13th among qualifying left tackles.
His extension was earned. It's his durability that concerns me in the long run but he played above average at LT last year. As far as Harrison. He needs to play better. 58th overall in grading out of 140 qualifying tackles. 68th in pass blocking, 91st in run blocking. Gave up four sacks. Overall, he was below average last year as a run blocker and pretty average as a pass blocker. He needs to show noticeable improvement in year three already. Milum will have an opportunity to push and challenge for OT and OG work for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing him out there in the starting line-up. Ransaw and Kiser are starters at the minimum by next year. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."
