So...Aaron Colvin is a name I've heard a lot

Bubblegum Gratz! The first real draft pick Caldwell will have to let go...

("real draft pick" meaning not a late rounder a la Ace)

McCray is still the gem of the lot.  So I'm told.

Can't understand why he is pushed down the depth chart.........

Ramsey inside in nickel package until Colvin comes back. Watch that blitz...

Quote:I just don't see how House is better than Amukamara other than the fact he is able to stay (marginally) healthier. If Amukamara could stay on the field he would definitely be in the top 3 of our CB rotation. Good problem to have though.

As for Colvin, I hope he lives up to the hype he's getting this offseason. Having Colvin take a step forward with Ramsey in the fold now would be huge.

I think by end of season it will shake out with Amukamara 4th on the depth chart.

Ramsey

House

Colvin

Amukamara

What an upgrade.

I do agree he is affordable depth, but if Ramsey wins the outside and Prince ends up being close in performance to whoever mans slot while Colvin is gone, I think they might cut him to have a chance to start elsewhere.

Do you mean the first round pick who will likely be the best DB on the team in short order?  Or the guy making 3 million on a one year prove-it deal who was signed after Colvin got suspended?

Both, the fact that our 4th DB has starting level talent compared to the likes of Gratz/Marshall who were playing extensively late last year.

Haha. Gotcha.  I thought you were being sarcastic :teehee:

The only issue I have at the moment is - what happens when Colvin is gone for 4 games?

I'm guessing we'll see Ramsey at nickel and Amukamara / House on the outside since the word on Prince is that he doesn't have a knack for playing inside.

I can live with that, though I have very little confidence in Amukamara at the moment.

I do really think House and Ramsey outside with Colvin in the slot is a major upgrade to what we've seen for several years.

I'm going to have to consult with PFF before I subscribe to this.  :teehee:

Agree.  And as you said later, the only real question is what it will look like without Colvin early.

House played his [BLEEP] off last season.

Agreed. I think people will start to turn on Prince once the games actually start. From what I've seen (and I watch the Giants a lot), he doesn't come up with a lot of big plays and gets handled by the better receivers in the league. I want to be wrong about this.

Hard to say. He's never had a 100 yard game against him either so....
