I think we have something with Sheldon Day

It has seemed that Dave has consistently been drafting guys on day 3 that were expected to go higher. Maybe soon the phrase "the rich get richer" will apply to us.

5-Technique is his future IMO.

Considering Odrick is 28 and making 7 million per year on that contract I tend to think he may be a cap casualty when we start resigning our core players we drafted like Bortles, ARob etc. the Dline is crowded as is and I cant see him stealing snaps from Malik Jackson or a healthy Marks. Since he's a tad undersized for an interior DT at 290 lbs. and has a lot of disruption and pass rush ability I think he reps at the Big End/5-technique spot to be groomed as Odricks eventual replacement, at 6'2" he has the neccessary length and considering his weight he's in that fringe spot of too light for DT but too heavy for a traditional DE and our current scheme's Big End role seems tailor made for him.

I could see him getting a try at 3-technique but I think with Marks and Jackson there'll be less opportunity for him there and Big End is his best chance to get on the field. Imagine Day-Jackson-Marks-Fowler as a line on 2nd and 10. Kinda scary if it reaches its potential

Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Pay Day would be perfect if there are incentives in his contract, but I don't think rookies get them.

Enough with the nicknames. Let's just hope he translates well to the NFL.

I think this pick is going to outplay draft position as a rookie.

OTIS....... (Assuming he translates well to the league, outplays his draft position, and the rest of the DL is willing to be knighted)

I think his nickname should ebb and flow based on real time game performance.

When he gets a sack he can be Pay Day.

A big stop behind the line of scrimmage and he's DoomsDay.

He hits an opponent so hard that they need an injury timeout and he's Day of the Dead.

He misses a tackle which springs a RB for a big gain and he's Independence Day.

He gets penalized and he's Flag Day.

Any time he tackles a Dolphins player they are known as Fish of the Day.

A QB doesn't read him dropping back into coverage and throws an easy pick and it's Christmas Day.
Only a chump boos the home team!
