Thank Dallas for not trading the pick to Ravens. even thou they could have got Zeke at 6 i love Jerry now! i also don't know if they would have traded up if Jaylon Smith wouldn't have been there second pick. Jags saw 1 backer go so they went and got theres

We will never know which player was truly higher on their board; Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack (we have to assume it was Jack for various reasons already discussed all over the message board) but I totally agree with you 100%. When they saw Jaylon Smith get drafted it was a must trade IMO.

If Myles Jack was higher on their board than Jaylon Smith, they would have picked him at #34. The Cowboys knew the risks of picking Jaylon Smith because their own doctor operated on him.

I wasn't referring to the Cowboys, but rather the Jaguars. The Cowboys had every intention of drafting Jaylon Smith. His brother is a Dallas Cowboy, and the surgeon that operated on him was a Dallas Cowboy Surgeon.

It should not have been a surprise to any of the other 31 NFL teams that they had drafted him. I think a few teams thought that he might fall to the 3rd round due to the injury.

I don't know if the Cowboys drafting Jaylon had anything to do with the Jaguars trading up but watching it, it had felt that way.

The Cowboys had every intention of drafting Paxton Lynch if he somehow dropped to #34. Jaylon Smith was their consolation prize for drafting a QB much later.
