I'd let them face off in open competition for the job, and anyone who'd do otherwise is a fool.

At the best dude probably wont even be clear to play until at least week 6-7. ACL in week six, average one year recovery time = week 6/7 return if he is lucky. I hope for the best because he will be a definite upgrade.

Marks was made active in Week 6 last year. I"ll bet Beachum is at least practicing by the start of the season.

I'd like to see Beachum and the Joker in an Oklahoma drill.

Position dependant.

I think an O-line guy recovery is different from WR/RB.

I don't think they sign him if they don't think he's going to be ready to actually add competition. (I think they signed him to replace Joker and have Lukey slide inside.)

How many OLs do you think they keep. I'll go ahead and list those currently on the roster, and I have to think they might draft an interior OL...

 1. RG/C Brandon Linder

 2. RT Jermey Parnell

 3. LT Kelvin Beachum

 4. G AJ Cann

 5. LT/LG Luke Joekel

 6. G/C Mackenzie Bernadeau

 7. G Tyler Shatley

 8. RT/C Luke Bowanko

 9. OT Josh Wells

 10. G Kadeem Edwards

 11. G Chris Reed

 12. RT/G Patrick Miller

I would say they keep nine, with the first six on your list, one from the draft, and two from 7-12.

I suppose they could sign someone else, as 7-12 are all looking like 'just a guy' type players (sad about Bowanko, but it seems that way).

I can see that. Among the 2 from 7-12, they probably take one backup G, as in Shatley, Edwards or Reed, and then one backup RT, as in Bowanko, Wells or Miller. Among these, clearly Shatley and Bowanko have an edge. Shatley because he was being hyped last year as potential starter, and Bowanko because he has the innate skills to also play Center in a clutch situation. In other words, 9-12 are considerable long shots to make the 53-man roster.

As for Wells, he probably deserves to be a couple spots higher, and he should be able to find another job as a backup OT if released in time
. I just don't see him sticking around moving forward unless it turns out that Bowanko just can't cut it as a RT.
