Sign Beachum tomorrow and kick Joeckel inside to LG

Moving him to guard doesn't fix his sloppy technique. He is either lazy or not very smart. It is only a technique issue with Joekel. To me that's fixable with proper coaching and dedication.

Beachum. Bernadeau. Linder. Cann. Parnell

You thought we had issues at LG last season...

If Beachum comes in and is healthy enough and beats out Joeckel, Joeckel is going to the bench and would be a swing tackle.  At that point, he'd very likely play his last season here as a Jaguar.

He's too soft and weak to play the interior positions

I keep wondering why none of the combine numbers ever showed Joeckel's weakness and lack of ability to play LT

Because he did a decent job of it in college in the "mighty" SEC?

Tape >> combine.

That being said... no prospect comes with a pick back guarantee...

I thought 2 out of those 3 years were in the Big 12

Quote:Move Linder to center, and all of a sudden you have one of the most athletic offensive lines in football. Luke is already an above average run defender and I think his athleticism would allow him to shine in pass pro if he were moved inside. Luke's upside as a guard is just better than his upside as a LT, regardless of where he's moved he needs to continue to bulk up in the weight room.

Linder is arguably an elite RG while would you move him to Center where he wouldn't be only above average?

LUke is a huge weakness to the Oline, but who knows maybe they draft an OT with #5 overall ( I doubt it because GM Dave Caldwell said he was going to address the Defense in the draft, but you never know).

LJ will be replaced as a starter sooner than later.  He lacks talent, size, determination and conviction.  You can't find 3 of 4 of those attributes in a weight room.

All of this plus it was one of the worst drafts in recent history. And a guy at the same position taken one spot ahead of him has been equally as dreadful.

Weren't we trying to progress Bowanko at Tackle? I wonder if that is still a thing.

No pain, no gain.

Leave Linder alone. He plays good where he is.

These guys are like.  Oh No, they're moving Joekel to Guard.  We'll never get to the QB now.

"That was one of the worst draft ever". I love that excuse for a failure of draft picks for the Jaguars.

Because we probably ought to have one of these that actually makes some kind of vague sense...

It doesn't excuse not finding a quality player in the draft as some teams managed to find the few players that WERE decent, but let's not kid ourselves.

That draft was terrible from top to bottom.
