Quote:I didn't say switch to a 3-4, I said have more 3-4 looks.

We don't have that many 3-4 looks. We have 3-4 elements. I think they need to add more 3-4 looks if we have guys like Fowler and Spence together. Put in Vernon and they can really get crazy.

How about just not draft Noah Spence so we don't have to worry about adding more 3-4 looks?

How about we not draft anyone at all so we don't have to worry about changing anything?

Here are what I see are some potential draftees from the Senior Bowl Game.  Of course, Caldwell could draft any of them.  This is just my opinion.

Darian Thompson FS Boise State

Round 3

Adolphus Washington DT Ohio State

Sheldon Day DT Notre Dame

Deiondre Hall CB Northern Iowa

Kenyon Drake RB Alabama

Sebastian Tretola G Arkansas

Round 4

Eric Striker OLB Oklahoma

Tyler Matakevich ILB Temple

Graham Glasgow C Michigan

Round 6

Antonio Morrison ILB Florida

DeAndre Washington RB Texas Tech

Glen Gronkowski TE Kansas State

So apparently while Noah was at Ohio State, our very own Michael Bennett was his "big brother".

I have a feeling that Spence is the type who would have done something stupid even if a cop was sitting over his shoulder.

Was watching an interview of Spence when he was at Ohio State and someone asked who is big brother is and he said Michael Bennett. I assume it is something Urban does, where he has an upperclassmen take an underclassmen under his wing.

Check out some of the articles about Spence and how he's been working hard on and off the field ever since he got kicked out of OSU. Seems like the man really has taken it to heart.

I see a guy who looks like he will be an average pass rusher in the nfl and a decent run defender in bosa. He just doesn't have the quick, explosive burst that you see in the better rushers.

Quote:Nobody has said Spence isn't a better pass rusher, he's the best pass rusher in the draft no doubt. That doesn't mean he's a better player. Bosa will be a good pass rusher and dominant run defender. Spence should be a great pass rusher and potentially be a very poor run defender.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I'd still rather get Bosa at 5 if he is there. Will be interesting to see where people project Spence to go after the Senior Bowl, so far I am seeing anywhere from 12-30. If he was hanging around in the mid-1st I would definitely trade up to get him.

We basically would have 3 young bucks (Fowler, Bosa, and Spence) to fix our pass rush. If you could pull that off and bring in an Eric Berry, we would be set.
