I'm kinda bored waiting for the Jag/tinhorn game to start, so decided to check the Direct TV Guide for next Saturday to see when the games next week will be.

 

It's showing that BOTH NFL playoff games on Saturday are gonna be on at the same time...

 

This CANNOT be for real, can it?  Is the NFL so stupid to have the games played at the same time????

It's probably just because the games aren't actually announced yet. The networks would never stand for it, they pay big bucks to air the games, and they'll want to be able to air them unopposed by a game on their rival network during that time frame.

This has to be a mistake.

 

There has been a 12:30 game and a 4 pm game as long as I can remember.

 

The next 2 weeks of playoff football are some of my favorite weeks of football that don't include Jags games.

I think they did that initially in order to see which one they were going to "flex" to the later time slot in order to pull in the ratings. Maybe.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

For the first time that I recall since the NFL went to its current playoff format in 1990,  the AFC playoff games are on the same date and the NFC playoff games are on a different date.
