Andrew Norwell

(This post was last modified: 03-10-2017, 02:02 PM by Teal Time Radio.)

With many upset with lack of Oline so far.  Would  Andrew Norwell LG /LT(panthers) be  better than any projected 2nd rounders?

Pro Football Focus  has him rated right under lang, graded as 85.7 third best.  Right above warford at 81.5.  Still in prime at 25 too.   RFA (2nd round tender)

Since most rookies take awile to develop.  Should this be a guy we try to pry away from Carolina?   If miss out on Lang?

I'll just copy my posts from the FA thread

Quote:I think maybe it has more to do with a premium position being available at 36

Anything can happen on draft day, maybe you really like one of the QB's or theres a CB or S or DL you have a high grade on. That's more my thinking on it.

Quote:The reality with Chruch and Campbell (more so Campbell) Is he could pop a disc in a work out and it nags all season and you never see him. Tall guys don't last as long as Campbell does, look how fast John Henderson lost it with a similar body frame. You still need to be using these picks on the same positions you are filling with FA's.

The balance of right now vs future years is the penultimate decision making that keeps GM's around. Every GM in Jags history has failed at maintaining success if they had it and their flaws were exposed when the core players were not replaced.. putting us into the position we are today

I just worry with a rookie as a starting guard for our rb's  or future ones.

No way Coughlin is giving away a 2nd round pick for a guard.

I think people have forgotten that Coughlin never put a premium on interior linemen. He was always about the tackles.

If it was just the pick for an already proven very good and still young guard? Yeah I'd do it. But he's going to demand a huge ~9-10 mil/yr deal like the major guards got this year too.

I know right! There are people who actually want us to pick a guard over the best RB in the draft. Just for sake of us not drafting a RB.
