Mismanaged Timeouts

Bradley should not have taken a timeout on 2nd down with 2:41 left on the clock. The play clock was 35, meaning they have to run another play before the 2 minute warning. It would be 3rd down at the 2 minute warning and the Jags would still have a timeout left.

Huge win, but surely I can't be the only one who caught this.

it was the right thing to do, even the announcer said so, and we won so what does it matter

Really can't say that.. With how bad Myers really is, they prolly imagined that 50+ yarder and NO shot.. It blew up in their face..

No, it wasn't. The announcer was mistaken. The way the Jags did it they ended up with no timeouts at the 2 minute warning.

The announcer doesn't know what he's talking then. At 2:45 remaining, you don't call a timeout. There's going to be 1 play left before 2 minute warning regardless if you do. He essentially wasted a timeout.

Hey, I'm one of the biggest optimists on this forum. That was simply poor management of the timeouts. We could have gotten the ball back with quite a bit more time.

Exactly. If there is less time on the playclock then the gameclock, you make them run another play. You then use the timeout on 3rd down after the 2 minute warning and they are punting with ~1:55 instead of 1:20.
