LOS ANGELES –  George Barris, the legendary custom car builder who created television's original Batmobile and helped define California's car culture with colorfully designed vehicles ranging from the stunningly beautiful to the simply outrageous, died Thursday. He was 89.

A guy in the town where I live has one of the original Batmobiles used in the show in the late 60's.  I occasionally see him driving it around.   Got a picture of my kids sitting in it.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Probably about 5 years ago, on a Halloween night, he actually took the car out decked out in full Batman gear.  I was sitting at a stoplight heading home from work, and this car pulled up next to me. I looked over, and there he was!  He turned and looked my way, I gave him a big thumbs up, and the light changed.  I grew up with that being the only Batmobile.  It was an iconic car.  I have friends out at the beach that see it all the time out there.  He apparently frequents a bar out there and likes to bring the car out if the weather is nice.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
