Telvin Smith - AFC Defensive player of the week

#41

Quote:Is this his second career AFC defensive player of the week or the second of this season?

Second in his career. The first time was before he moved up the depth chart. But that is still impressive for a second-year player.

Telvin also had a couple tfls. He was playing well last week. Let's hope he can Continue to play at this high level.

Fair or not given his body I'm curious if he can hold up season after season. If so he'll be one to remember.

Telvin isnt exactly surrounded by great talent either... Poz is awesome though..

If Skuta was as good it would be the best LB core (4-3) in the NFL in my opinion!

Imagine next season when Dante Fowler is on the other side. That can only help Telvin Smith.

Fowler will be playing DE not linebacker!

I could see him playing both. He has the versatility, and especially if we go DE again in the 1st

He has been quite the tackling machine...consistent too with at least 9 tackles in every game.

As for Colvin, he's not starting over Gratz because he's starting on the other side.

Jags top tacklers:

Telvin

Poz

Cyp

Colvin

Skuta

Poz has a strong share, too.

"edge"

There is no longer RDE or rush ROLB, only "edge."

Yes, Cyp is god awful, we ALL know that already. No need to keep beating a dead horse.

Assuming Fowler Jr is the homerun that GM Dave Caldwell is hoping for, and that he fits in HC Gus Bradley's system (if Gus remains next year), and if Fowler is able to bounce back a 100% after the surgery (some players are never the same after an ACL, AP is simply a freak of nature).

Of course I'm hoping that Fowler Jr. is that Leo that Gus imagined, and the whole scheme depends on a fantastic LEO so maybe next year we'll see how it was truly designed (of course it also depends on a Stellar SS which Cyprien has struggled with at times).
