Sergio Brown

Quote:He was horrible that game. Probably responsible for damn near half those 23 missed tackles.

When the free safety misses a tackle on a RB the problem is a lot earlier in the play than the free safety.

I never understood why we got rid of Lowery

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine

Yeah, I can't help but think that this Defense would have been quiet a bit better if Dave had held onto Lowery, B.Marshall, D.Smith and possibly even Sheen (maybe not so much now).

Well Poz was out so I'm sure that didn't help the situation. Regardless, as a single high safety you're the last line of defense on the field. Missed tackles leads to long gains.

I liked him a lot too. I think in hindsight, he (Caldwell) may have done things a little differently. Jettisoning almost EVERYONE from the team was/is a tall task to come back from. He said as much about the offense at least.

Yeah Lowery was probably the last decent one , I found Landry very inconsistent, would play great one game and then have a shocker.

With a defense anywhere near the 2011 one we would be sniffing playoffs this year.

Caldwell wanted to sign him to the practice squad, but he chose to go to Denver's practice squad instead.

Wow.

Lowery? You guys miss lowery? C'mon.

Didn't watch that pats/colts game huh?

He was abused just as badly as our guys were or worse.

Landry was decent, but Lowery was actually pretty good. Compared to what we have now, he's Ronnie Lott.

Quote:Landry/Lowery was probably the last decent duo we had. Before that, I can only remember Darius/Grant. I forget who played alongside Reggie Nelson... Sammy Knight?

Sergio missed tackles in the Bucs game. But then again, Cyprien does too, but doesn't get benched.

Nah, it was before the Bucs game because Evans replaced Sergio for that game, and if you watched closely you'd see it was indeed Evans missing those tackles. I guess Sergio just got himself deep in the coach's dog house.

Interesting... I hadn't noticed that. That said, Lowery was a bit of a stud in the secondary for the Colts during their first several games.

Agreed except Sheen is starting to show his age. I'd also include Terrance Knighton in the mix, and maybe even Mincey although who knew Fowler would be gone or that Branch would suck so bad.
