Division Standings

Quote:That sounds doable. Do that and win home games over the Ravens and Chargers, and the Jaguars are 8-8 with an 8-4 mark in the AFC and a 4-2 mark in the AFC South. That should be plenty enough to win this division. Doable, yeah, with a better HC. Doable with Gus Bradley, not so much. Gus just doesn't have that ultra-competitive attitude it takes to win a lot of games in the NFL. Basically, he's just too nice of a guy to be a really successful HC in the NFL. Case in point, he really had a chance to completely bury the Bills on Sunday after jumping out to an extremely unexpected 24 point lead and not only do the Bills make a run, they actually comeback enough to take the lead. Luckily, BB5 and AH were able to make a play to save what should have been a much easier win after getting off to a 27-3 lead against a hapless Bills team lead by a back up QB, who was actually down to 3rd string until Matt Cassell got traded away.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Win on Thursday and we are most likely in a three way tie for first place in the division. We have the best qb and easiest schedule going forward.
Here's who the cloys have left
Atlanta -away TB Pittsburgh -away Jax -away Houston Miami -away tacks Tinhorns have NYJ NO Buffalo - away NE clots - away tenn - away Jax Of course we have ten chargers ten - away clots atl NO - away tinhorns - away I see us wining 4 of 7, clots 2 maybe 3 of 7, tinhorns 2 maybe 3 of 7 The fact we lost to both earlier in the season could be the difference maker unless they absolutely tank. Our injuries are looming huge too. Don't count on any playoffs. Lets improve and worry about next year
Because Jaguars is our mantra

Quote:After 6 weeks I mean nothing so far would really scream the Jaguars winning this division. They have constantly tried to lose games by giving up the ball so much (turnovers) yet not getting turnovers on Defense themselves to make up for it. That being said the Jaguars have the easiest remaning schedule among the AFC South teams, and while they are 0-2 in the div (they shouldve beaten the Colts in OT). They could win out and hence earn themselves a playoff birth. They control their own destiny at this point, simply win & the chances of going this season are high... heck they could even lose a game or two and maybe still go (but not Divisonal games they are huge) they need to win against the Titans today... and if you are going to seriously talk about Playoffs they have to really dominate the Titans prove that their offense is better than it has performed this season & that the Defense even though injured is still a lot better than the stats would indicate. In order to do that they need players whom have failed to produce this year have a great game especially the DEs!
The respective schedules for the Colts and Texans aren't likely to matter for the Jags' playoff chances. The division will be decided in weeks 16 and 17 (and probably both).
Both the Colts and the Texans will beat the Titans, especially since by Weeks 16 and 17 the Titans will be long eliminated. They're basically out after tonight's loss, absent winning out the rest of the way (yeah right). The Colts and the Texans already have half the tiebreaker and a better division record - 2 games better for the Colts. The problem for the Jags is they need Houston to beat Indy or they lose the division tiebreak against the Colts (since the Titans aren't gonna do it). If Houston does beat Indy then they're 4-1 in the division going into the Week 17 game with the Jags. In order for the Jags to clinch without week 17, they'd need to be two games up on Houston. The Jags only have 5 games left to play, and we've already factored wins over the Titans and Colts into Houston's column in this scenario. So unless the Jags can go 4-1 (and the Texans go 0-4 outside the division) or 5-0 (and the Texans don't do better than 1-3 outside the division) between now and week 17 - it pretty much comes down to the result of that last game. On the other hand, if Houston loses to Indy then Jax has no hope of the tiebreaker and has to finish a game ahead of the Colts. In this scenario the Colts 1 game lead + Houston + Tennessee means that Jax must go at a minimum 2-1 outside the division, while hoping Indy goes 0-fer. Indy has games against Tampa Bay and Miami, plus longer shots vs Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Of course, for this scenario to matter at all, Jax has to beat Indy. For a while it was looking like we'd get help in both games. Gotta win these division games, that's all there is to it.

The Texans can lose a game or 2 on their upcoming schedule (they have some tough ones). But, if they come back and beat the Jags it would likely jump them right back up there. Jags have to take care of business agunst TENN in a couple weeks. They need it. The colts and Texans games will be big.

That should be plenty enough to win this division. The Ravens game was in Baltimore. I don't see us winning 8 games with the Chargers, Falcons, and Saints on our schedule. We can lose to the Texans again. Quote:Win on Thursday and we are most likely in a three way tie for first place in the division. We have the best QB and easiest schedule going forward. The Jaguars should be able to put up all sorts of points on them, and all three have been losing games lately.

The Saints game should be fun to watch, it might end up looking like that Saints/Giants game.

Do you really think we can stop Drew Brees after Ryan Tannehill had all day to throw the ball? Matt Ryan has some great weapons on offense. We need a playoff level defense to stop any of them. Why are so few picking the Texans? Three of their five losses came with Ryan Mallett at QB, and he's no longer on the team. They have one very likely loss to the Pats, but the rest of their schedule is fairly easy. The winner of the Houston-Indy game is in the driver's seat, and I think Houston is just better.
"Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"

They are homers. People just want to believe Jacksonville is better than Houston. |
