Really wish we had more Ws but Im really glad to see Bortles progressing and getting better

Bortles is progressing. He wasn't going to throw 4 tds and 400 yards out of the gates. His mechanics rebuild is a long grueling process.


He is truly floating this offense right now. We need him to get better to elevate our game and get some wins.

So refreshing after Gabbert acted like they were bringing everyone at him when they'd only rush 4.

 

To be fair to Gabbert, with all his other problems aside, he was playing behind an offensive line where the other team could rush 4 and 5 of them would get to the quarterback...

This doesn't remind me of any jaguars quarterback. He's pretty good at the 2 minute drill too.


IE I think he's surpassed the long line of quality jaguar quarterbacks in 20 games.

What an insane spread of QBR's. Rodgers at 84.4 when being blitzed; Luck at 1.6 and Romo 1.1. Wow! Even Brady is at 30.1 - I thought the rationale behind the gameplan against the Pats was that Brady was an unstoppable force when being blitzed. Hmmmm. Don't want to revisit the past, but that conservative approach coupled with soft coverage ain't looking too smart.

 

Anyway, not sure what to make of these stats based on the huge spread. Especially when you have elite level QB's at the bottom of the list. Still a small sample size I guess. But it's another factor that suggests Bortles is improving. He hasn't gone from bottom of the league to Pro Bowler, but I'll take middle of the pack in year 2. Hopefully the steady upward climb continues.

They broke it down between being pressured and being blitzed. Brady under pressure had issues. When you blitz you don't necessarily get pressure and he picks you apart.


I agree they should have blitzed more though.

But he played with the Great Wall of Duval, aka Eugene Monroe.

Those two are all timers. The next level with guys like Roethlisberger and Rivers would be okay.

Uh, Big Ben is a HOF QB and tbh I would take him over either Brady or Manning. He is the best QB in the league right now.

You must not remember Mark very well. He was the master at beating the blitz.
