Steelers to sign kicker Chris Boswell to replace Josh Scobee

The Steelers kicking carousel continues.

After watching their kicker miss four field goals in the season's first four games, the Steelers will sign free agent Chris Boswell to replace Josh Scobee. Boswell, who was with the Giants during this past training camp, worked out with the Steelers Saturday morning.

It will be interesting to see how the rookie does knowing he has to make 80% of his kicks including the ones between 40-50 yards.

Scobee will make $4mil guaranteed and his offseason starts 12 weeks early. Kinda hard to feel bad for the guy. He had makeable FGs and blew it. Now he gets to play golf 12 months a year.

He actually might get another look, should a desperate situation arise. Personally, I think he has something left in the tank. It's kinda ironic that someone had asked him a week before he was traded what his least favorite stadium to kick was. He said Heinz Field...

If he is done, I wish him the best. He did us really well here for a long time. His last gift to Jax was a 6th round draft pick. Pretty solid, if you ask me.
