Report: Former FSU mascot stabbed to death over gumbo recipe

There is a sad and completely insane story out of Tallahassee.

Last week, according to a Tallahassee Democrat report, a man who used to portray FSU mascot Chief Osceola for the university was killed during an argument about a gumbo recipe.

I'd say 90% of gumbo isn't that good.  I'd also say the guy who wanted more spice was correct.

Depends on the gumbo.

Probably not.  In fact, I'm 90% sure I don't know what I'm talking about.  But the only time I remember having good gumbo though was at the Port New Orleans resort in Orlando.  I probably had gumbo at some point in the city of New Orleans too but I was too young to remember.

Gumbo is not a dish that you find many home cooks outside of Louisiana making. It's also one of those dishes that most restaurants don't have on the menu unless they're a New Orleans style restaurant. One of the main reasons, I think, is because one of the main ingredients, File' is not a common spice sold which helps make gumbo stand out.
