Second year leap

#1

I think we can all name Jaguars who struggled in their second year. Who do you think has taken that second year leap in years past?

McCray played well in his second year. MOJO for sure. Mathis played well after rotating a lot in his rookie year. Stroud had that monster year after a solid rookie campaign.

Stroud had a terrible rookie year. Is that what you meant by "monster?"

Shorts is another recent example.

Stroud didn't have a terrible rookie year.

He just didn't start because he had solid players ahead of him. As the year went on he got more and more playing time.

He had an ordinary rookie year and made a nice jump in year 2.

I'm very disappointed that joeckel, cyprien, gratz, and Ace (our first 4 picks in this regime) showed absolutely no real growth from year 1 to year 2.

If that happens to last year's draft class, we are in for a very long season.

The second year leap I am most looking forward to is Bortles.   If he doesn't make the leap, it's back to square one....again.

Oops, I was thinking of Henderson

Denard improved a lot in his second season. And what about Marks ?

Not sure the OP meant 2nd year in team, rather 2nd year in league, so Marks may not qualify, Andy.
Success is a journey, not a destination.  Go all out Mighty Jaguars.

He didn't have a good rookie year. He really didn't have a breakout game until a Sunday Nighter against the Giants in 2002. Before that, there was some talk of him being a bust.
