Didn't Hurns play almost the entire '15 season with a sports hernia?

He could likely play through it if he had to but given the time frame it makes sense. I'd imagine he'll miss a good portion of training camp work but will play week 1.

Almost 3 months before any meaningful football is played and you're giving up because of surgery to a minor injury? I trust the player and doctors know what they're doing. Jalen is a beast of a player and isn't a rookie anymore. I doubt this dooms his season. I'm sure it will be for other reasons we end up 4-12.
No pain, no gain.

Nor good at all.

But, they're not playing today, and this injury is a quick recovery, so it's not bad, Debbie Downer.  Talk about drama queens.  I thought people from NY were supposed to be a sturdy breed.

It's something that could linger. He's had 2 surgeries in 2 years. It's not something we want in arguably our best defensive player.

If these are the severity of injuries Jalen is going to have then I'm cool with it. I'd rather him have a small thing here and there in the off-season than a season ender week 3

I'm more concerned on how the injury arose in the middle of the offseason. He will be fine for the actual season; but hopefully we do not begin to see a trend with other players.

Didn't he have surgery for a micro fracture in his knee at FSU as well?

Just saw a report from Ian Rapoport (?) that indicates Ramsey will be out 6-8 weeks....that puts him out through training camp.

If it's a sports hernia as most suspect, there was already a weakness that would have made him susceptible.   He could have been walking up a staircase and had it occur.

Medical guidelines even for an open surgery say 6 weeks max.  If this was done laproscopically, he will be ready to start participating before the preseason worst case.

If this was 1995, nobody would ever know he had surgery. He would show up for training camp and make the Pro Bowl.

However, Jalen did write out this long description, almost apologetic post on twitter. Or instagram. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I don't feel like he has to explain.

In either case I hope he's alright.

Truth be told, it might be a blessing in disguise if he missed part the preseason.

We lucked out that it showed itself in OTA's and not training camp or preseason. I'd like to see him get time to play in the third preseason game but until then no cause for concern.

Even if Ramsey comes back 100% from surgery. Bouye will end up the most talked about. Due to more teams will throw more towards Bouye direction. Figuring without the tinhorns pass rush. Bouye will be the better chance of completing passes. Until he is constantly shutting them down as well.
