Interesting that you have Jackson as your number 1 player. I could replace him with Sheldon Day and still have a good defense.

I could replace Ramsey with Colvin and my defense is trash.

I promise on a stack of bibles I like Colvin as a nickel back. Just haven't seen him do anything on the outside.

Replace Ramsey with any CB and our defense lacks. Replace a DT and our defense is the same.

I don't have much faith in Colvin playing outside either, actually.

I do think you are grossly exaggerating the insignificance of Jackson's contribution in the middle however.

Just throw Day in there. Won't make any difference.

It'll make difference. But not as much if you replace Ramsey.

He was worth the money last year. If it weren't for him the little bit of pass rush outside of him wouldn't have existed last year. He was the best pass rusher overall that we had. Now we're backing him up with Cambpell and Ngakoue is coming in for his second year.

It should only increase Jackson's chances of getting after the QB. Which in turn allows guys like Ramsey and Bouye to look better on the back end. I am a firm believer in the trenches and that it all starts up front. A good front four can mask an average secondary.

You want to see Jackson, Campbell, Ngakoue and Fowler leading this defense this year. It only benefits the team. I am still recognizing the talent though in Ramsey and Bouye by ranking them 3rd and 4th respectively. I am just saying. If Jackson and Campbell were to be off the roster.

It wouldn't look so pretty up front. Those two also have to play the run a lot harder and better than the secondary has to.

It would be easier to do a top five on each side of the ball, like...

OFFENSE
1. Linder

2. ARob
3. Fournette
4. Albert
5. Bortles

DEFENSE
1. Ramsey
2. Campbell
3. Jackson
4. Ngakoue
5. Bouye

Bortles wouldn't even be in my top 10 on offense.

1. Arob
2. Linder
3. Fournette
4. Hurns
5. Westbrook
6. Cam Robinson
7. Lee
8. Yeldon
9. Albert

This makes no sense bro you have 4 wide receiver's but not the guy who's go to be throwing to them? Also have 3 running backs and there's no way I'm putting TJ Yeldon ahead of Bortles. Fournette should be carrying the load as well

If by end of season Bortles isn't considered one of the best 10 players... we're in trouble.
Regardless of how close this team may be in other areas... starting over with a new QB next year, especially a rookie, does not give me confidence in the turnaround we're all hoping for.

Here's hoping we look back at this season as Bortles' best and feel good about a future with him at QB.

Yeldon over Borltes? I don't think so. I can't even put Yeldon over Ivory.

Westbrook #5 ahead of Cam?

For the top 10 on offense, I'll say...

  1. Linder
  2. ARob
  3. Fournette
  4. Albert
  5. Bortles
  6. Cam
  7. Hurns
  8. Rivera
  9. Lee
  10. Ivory

I know your big on Marqise, but kind of like DRob used to do, the albino tiger merely flashes on occasion. I have a real good feeling about Rivera, and I suspect he'll go down as the best TE we've had in Jacksonville in quite some time.

It's not just about me  "recognizing Lee's talent where others fail to see the truth."   Big Grin

It's about the production an it's import to the offense.

A good 2017 for Rivera is 500 yds and 6 TDs.

A good 2017  for Lee is 1000 yards and 10 TDs.

It's also not just about production for a TE. Rivera is a their move TE, but he can block too. There's a lot he can do, and I get the feeling that Marrone is going to absolutely love him.
