Ngakoue "worst" starter on the roster...

If 8 sacks as a rook is our 'liability' on D, we're in good shape. Tony and Jeff both predicted him to lead the team in sacks again. If poop hits the fan this year, I highly doubt the leading cause is Yannick's play. The young man seems driven and dedicated to his craft. PFF can kick rocks. I believe they will give Fowler a shot to compete in camp. Maybe the coaching staff would rather have Fowler on first down to defend the run. Time will tell. Ngakoue has stated in two separate interviews that he's working on his "hands technique" as well. Where did you read/hear that he was so focused on run defense? (I don't doubt you - I just want to read it too.)
Wait...
Some people don't realize Ngakoue is the starter?

I consider lock starters to be players like Calais and Malik. Lets say the camp battle is close...If more emphasis is on stopping the run doesn't it make more sense to play Fowler on first down to stop the run and dare teams to throw on Ramsey and Bouye? I think ngakoue is a stud, but I don't think you can say there won't be competition for that end spot yet. Regarding his focus this offseason, Oesher quotes Ngakoue saying, "just everything: hand placement, technique, playing against the run, developing more moves in the pass rush … There are a lot of things I want to work on.”... Maybe I'm just not seeing it in the archives, or it might have been how I heard it when listening initially. At the same time Dante was talking about his focus on the pass rush in particular. What!? The guy was our best rusher last year, as a rookie. I swear people need to do a little research before they write such non-sense. Is PFF the new CNN (fake news)?

He's the incumbent, having started at the position going into this season. That's why he's given the label starter. It's a tall order expecting anyone else to unseat him, given his performance and the remaining depth chart's lack thereof.

Personally I'd be shocked and flabbergasted is Ngakoue doesn't end up being their primary starting RDE. I'm not saying he's a lock, but he's so much better than any pass rusher I've seen in teal and black since Bobby McCray's double digit sack season.
