Texans willing to trade number 1 pick

Quote:Neither option of the Texans taking Teddy at 1 or trading down for a boatload of picks, which will likely span multiple drafts, and still getting Bortles or Manziel, is a good situation for the Jaguars, given they are in our division.

Hardly a snowballs chance in hell that the Texans trade with the Jags regarding the top pick....put it this way.....for the Texans to deal with the Jags for that pick, it would take a deal bigger than the RG3 deal....and we're not dumb enough to do that, I'd trust.
The only way they would still get Manziel is if they traded with another team in the top 5 in which case they are unlikely to get a boat load of picks spanding multiple drafts.

Quote:So, is the world still ending if the tinhorns trade out of #1, we get Teddy, and they stockpile draft picks?
For the last month I've heard the sky is falling bc the Texans are going to get Teddy and the jags will have no hope for the next 10-15 years

Quote:Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.....Either way, they are smartly playing this. Get the most value you can. If the offers aren't good enough, then they simply take Bridgewater. If a big offer presents itself, they don't paralyze themselves by falling in love with only one player - and trade down, stockpile picks and still get either Manziel or Bortles.

sometimes it seems like you love every single team in the nfl more than the jaguars. by sometimes, i mean all the time.

and now its the sky is falling because the texans might not get teddy, the jaguars could wind up with him, but the texans will have more draft picks. you just cant please TMD, constant pessimist/debby downer.

If it was the Jags with pick one like we should have had, and handling it the way the Texans are, I'd be talking us up right now too.

But we had to build that winning culture that got us to 4-12. I hope it proves worth it.

LOL, the Jags won't get him. If the Texans trade out of the pick, its obviously going to be with another team that wants to take Teddy at 1.

you cant be upset with the jaguars for getting better. those rookies cant be taught bad habits, they were taught to win and play hard, which is only going to help the jaguars going forward.

Maybe O'brien wants Ryan Mallet.

If the Jaguars want Teddy or Manziel sounds like they may have to give up draft picks to either Houston or St. Louis.

I say call their bluff. I don't want to give up a kings ransom for one player.

Worse comes to worst, we get Clowney at 3 or trade down accumulate picks and still get Bortles.

This. Were in a good position at 3. I've thought all along that the Texans take Johnny and the Rams will take Matthews. This would leave us with our choice of Teddy/Clowney.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

If their reasoning is that they can get just as good a QB later, then that's a wise decision.

When the dust settles, it wouldn't surprise me if the QB order and position turn out somewhat like last season.  The first off the board isn't the so-called favorite, and there aren't as many gone as early as expected.

Oh Houston. Hopefully they just wise up and pick Manziel at number one.  :whistling:

I want them to take Clowney 1st overall. And then I want to see Bridgewater, Manziel and Bortles all taken before they can pick a QB. ... but then, my luck, they'd work a deal and secure Mallett probably.....sigh.....

Ideally I want Houston to get Carr 2.0

No you would not. You would be screaming about how you cannot pass on a Aikman, Manning or Luck. Give it a rest.

Nope, if the price is high enough, I'd never bash a trade down.
