Houston Trade Down?
|
Quote:How much would it cost us to move up 2 spots? Swap firsts and a 3rd? Idk In this draft? More than that. Probably significantly. Thats why I say call their bluff. Do not trade that kind of huge deal for one player. Worst that happens is we either take Clowney at 3 or trade down and still get Bortles. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:I'm wondering if they are just seeing if they can jack a team for their whole next 3 drafts RGIII style. Um....thats EXACTLY what they are doing.....and its the smart move.
Houston is trying to get us back for dumping an injured Boselli on them. (-:
Obviously they think someone may be dumb enough to go after Bridgewater, who (like the rest) isn't a slam dunk prospect. It would appear they don't believe the value is there, and don't feel there's much difference among the top QBs. Wouldn't want to make the Carr mistake again, after all. Two of the first three overdrafted QBs out of desperation in 2002, while Julius Peppers was the best of the three.
History may repeat itself.

Umm, Clowney would be the only guy worth moving up for. There's certainly no Griffin caliber QB talent (pre-injury, of course) in this draft. But there is a sucker born every minute, so there's always a chance. All it takes is a (very paranoid) one.

Go with me here; they may like Bortles. .trading with us allows them a few extra picks and still time to get Bortles..makes sense. Only scenario I see us getting TB. Cleveland has more ammo than us

If Dave does decide to make an offer? What would you be comfortable giving up? I might be willing to give a 3rd round.....but not our early 2nd or next year's 1st.

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything but I see a few people have mentioned trading up... Let's settle this now: There is a 0% chance Dave trades with Houston for the first pick. Zero. Quite frankly, there is no one in this draft worth trading up from 3 to get.
I've been saying for a month that Houston won't take Bridgewater.
Many of you lolz'd at me. I'm guessing as the draft nears, the laughter will continue to dissipate. Despite the majority of Jags fans insistance on exaggerating Bridgewater's skills to near mythical status, he's just not an elite prospect. He's good- just not worth the first overall pick, and definitely not worth trading up for, especially not with a division rival.

I don't remember the colts announcing they wanted to shop their first pick that they used to get Luck We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Yea. Quote:Okay, I wasn't going to say anything but I see a few people have mentioned trading up... Anybody know of the last time there was a 1st round trade within a division for a top 10 pick?
I'd give up this years 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and next years 3rd to move up to #1.
Because I know how to evaluate QBs intelligently and know what being able to take Teddy means. I would only take Manziel in the first round if he came with an extra first round pick to get someone who will be in the NFL more than 2 years. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:I'd give up this years 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and next years 3rd to move up to #1. So you'd give four premium draft picks to a divisional rival who already has a very good roster, for an overrated QB prospect? Not seeing much intelligence there.
Quote:LOL, people are weird. There is no way this happens.
