As you begin to evaluate him as a prospect you see a good QB with a high floor but a suspect ceiling. (Game manager) In the right system he could be decent but he's not a player who will elevate the rest of the team by himself like you would like to see from a franchise QB.


When you step back and look at everything with an unbiased eye there's no way you can make a case for Bridgewater as a QB who should go # 1 overall. He's not a Manning, Luck, RG3 level prospect. He's more in line with the Alex/Geno Smiths' of the NFL world.


He's good but not great.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

He's the best QB in the class, at least IMO. Leaps and bounds better than Geno Smith as a prospect, and I think he has a good chance of being a franchise QB. 

 

He has great field awareness and pocket movement. Good mobility, but doesn't use it as a crutch only really scrambles when needed & when scrambling doesn't drop his eye level keeps his sight down field, has the arm to make all the throws deadly accurate short & intermediate, could use some work on deep balls. 

 

He does look a little small, but he'll probably put on some weight between now and May in prep for the NFL.

And when they grade prospects it is on pure physical ability, if you take a look at his intangibles it is not even a question. Bridgewater is a better qb than RG3, easily and very similar to Luck

I still think he is the best QB in an okay QB class. But that's not saying much. He's not worth the hype and praise I see in this board on a daily basis.
